Review Mining Explained (How to understand your buyers when you've got limited time (and budget))
Before we start I would like to ask you a simple question. I'll explain below the poll why I consider these options and what the benefits of both could be to you.
How would you rather receive this email? |
Right now you're receiving this mail with different subjects stacked on top of each other. When I send out individual emails I can tag the topics. For example: Marketing, Side-Hustle, Wealth building, Happiness, Books, Courses.
What this enables me to do is filter out what you actually like. When you open and read emails on 1 topic I can use that to send you more about that particular subject. This way eventually you'll receive only the mails you love to see.
If you vote you can leave a comment on the follow-up screen. I would love to hear your thoughts. You can also respond to this email and send me your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
Without further ado, the Weekly Startup #7:
5 steps to design the life you want.
This model is borrowed from Design-thinking.
Design Thinking is a process used to solve complex problems with the needs of a customer at heart.
But you can also apply it to yourself. To make yourself happy.
People often work on the wrong problems. They have a wonderful solution to something that wasn’t going to work anyway. When their plans meet reality they get knocked over. People get stuck and they don’t have the tools to get unstuck.
We have a lot of beliefs which psychologist label “dysfunctional beliefs”. Things believed to be true that aren’t actually true, beliefs that hold you back.
Digg in to learn about these beliefs and the 5 steps to make them history once and for all.
(My website is pretty slow, I'm working on it. Sorry!)
Should I invest more now the market is down?
There is a lot of investing advice out there, but what do you actually need to follow? Since stocks and crypto are down it's a good time to discuss strategy. A question asked a lot is: Should I invest more now stocks are down? The short answer is no. The longer answer with a clear strategy you could apply is below. 100% worth your time if you're serious about buying stocks and want a very simple approach to get started.
Your Life Visualized in Weeks
This pretty short but easy-to-read article really opened my eyes. It's a very visual article and pretty damn confronting in some ways. But also very inspiring. I don't want to spoil a lot but if there is 1 article I urge you to read from this mailing it's this one.
How to Change Your Life in 1 Year
“Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year and underestimate what they can achieve in ten years.” - Bill Gates
With all due respect to Bill, I'd like to propose an edit:
“Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a DAY and underestimate what they can achieve in a YEAR.”
I don't know about you, but I find the idea of ten years wildly intimidating. I'm 31, so maybe it's just the fact that ten years represents one-third of my life, or maybe it's my silent understanding that ten years ago I was doing embarrassingly immature stuff on a regular basis. Whatever the reason, I have a very tough time thinking on a ten-year time horizon.
What's more, I think it's completely unnecessary!
You don't need ten years to accomplish something spectacular. You don't need five years. You don't even need three years.
The truth: The massive, positive change you're hoping to make in your life is always just one year away.
Review Mining: How to Understand Your Buyers When You’ve Got Limited Time (And Budget)
This article gives a framework that I use a lot, until now I didn't know it had a name, but now I know: Review mining. If you are slightly interested in marketing, this tactic is perfect to:
Determine the Tone of voice for your campaigns.
Find marketing copy to use (even if you are just getting started and don't have any reviews of your own yet)
Find opportunities to outperform your competition.
And of course find the focus points for your own optimization.
How You Can Help Me. (If you like this mailing)
First of all, thanks a lot for reading. It motivates me to create and find more content going forward.
I want this information to be free for everyone. The world will only be a better place if chances are distributed more evenly. Inequality is already growing too fast. It's up to us to tighten the gap.
You can help me grow this educational platform I'm building in 4 easy ways (that cost you nothing).
1. Share your thoughts with me. Seriously, if you tell me what could be better or what you like I can use it to grow. I need your help to become better at this. So whatever is on your mind, just reply to this mail and tell me!
2. Share this mailing with a friend. Help me grow, help me spread the word.
3. Subscribe to my YouTube channel: (This way I can earn some ad money in the future)
4. Follow me on Medium (I need 100 followers to get paid by Medium for my writing)
Thank you!
You made it to the end. I hoped you liked the insights provided in this mailing. This email is brought to you by Startup Library, a brand of The Growing Investor. I intend to shift my cheezy quote game on Instagram to a more serious game where I share with you the resources I use to keep myself updated and motivated. If you got any suggestions feel free to reply to this mail or send me a DM on Instagram. If you found value for a friend I would appreciate it if you'd share this mail with them and have them sign up as well.
Thanks again and I'll see you next week with new resources to shake your professional world.
